HIP  - Total hip replacement, open reduction and internal fixation for fractured hip and femur.
KNEE  - knee replacement (unilateral knee replacement and total knee replacement), knee reconstructions including anterior cruciate and multi ligament repairs, high tibial osteotomy.
SHOULDER  – rotator cuff repairs, soft tissue damage repairs, shoulder release (to increase range of movement), unstable shoulder repairs, total shoulder replacement and arthroscopy.
ELBOW  –soft tissue repairs, elbow replacement & arthroscopy.
HANDS –repair of congenital conditions, fractures, carpel tunnel release, release of Dupytren's contracture, nerve and muscle releases.
FOOT & ANKLE  - fracture repairs, ligament repairs, Achilles tendon repairs, peroneal tendon repairs & reconstruction, fore foot reconstruction and repair of bunions.

While our atmosphere is relaxed, our equipment and facilities are at the forefront of medical technology and practice.

We have private rooms designed for total hip and knee surgery.

The hospital features 7 operating theatres equipped with the latest technology to assist surgeons perform state of the art orthopaedic procedures. These include:

  • Stryker Navigation System - an advanced computer-assisted 3D surgical monitoring program that helps the surgeon more precisely align a hip or knee implant
  • Hip Arthroscopy - specialised positioning devices and equipment
  • Mini C-Arm - imaging system that facilitates surgical procedures of the hand and foot
  • Spider Arm - specialty shoulder positioning device, facilitating upper limb procedures
  • Image Intensifier - used to optimise medical images with an X-ray imaging system in theatre

A diagnostic imaging service is located onsite, encompassing a range of modalities, from plain X-Rays to CT Scanning.

Most patients and their families prefer to access healthcare services, close to home. That is why all of our orthopaedic surgeons are accredited to operate regularly at Waverley Private Hospital, and also offer the convenience of onsite or local consulting.

Our orthopaedic surgeons and nursing staff work closely with visiting, hospital accredited physiotherapists who provide in-house physiotherapy care. For patients going home directly, outpatient physiotherapy and/or occupational therapy referrals are arranged.

 

The discharge destination for patients is determined through consultation with their surgeon.
