Marlon is a dedicated, compassionate and considerate clinician who strives to provide high quality care of patients suffering urologic conditions.

Waverley Private Hospital would like to introduce, Dr Marlon Perera an Australian trained urologist, accredited by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) and the Urologic Society of Australia and New Zealand (USANZ). Marlon has a special interest in Urologic Oncology and completed two-years of additional training in robotic surgery at the prestigious Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) in New York. Marlon obtained a Fulbright Scholarship during this time, becoming the first Australasian urologist to be awarded this scholarship. During his tenure at MSKCC, Marlon was awarded the ‘Clinical Research Award,’ awarded for the most outstanding research contribution at MSKCC in 2022/2023.

Marlon is actively involved in clinical research and completed a PhD (Urology) through the University of Melbourne. Marlon has published extensively with over 160 peer-reviewed publications in leading journals and frequently presenting at international congresses. Marlon recently published the Practice Update for the 2023 AUA Localised Prostate Cancer guidelines for USA. Further, among his publications, several have been featured heavily in the major authoritative guidelines, including the European Urologic Association (EUA) and the American Urologic Association (AUA) guidelines for the treatment of prostate cancer.

In addition to over $200,000 AUD in research grants, Marlon has been awarded numerous prizes including the Villis Marshall Prize, RC Bennet Medal (for Best Scientific Paper at Vic RACS, 2017), and the Frank Gardiner Medal (for Best Presentation at Qld USANZ, 2018).
