Waverley Private Hospital would like to introduce Mr Richard Dallalana, orthopaedic Surgeon. Richard has an interest in arthroscopic reconstruction of the shoulder for sports injuries and rotator cuff tears. He performs shoulder joint replacement for arthritis using computer-assisted surgery and is leading the introduction of robotics into shoulder replacement.
Richard completed his undergraduate medical degree at the University of Melbourne in 1993 followed by clinical training at St. Vincent’s hospital.
He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and a member of the Australian Orthopaedic Association.
Further post-graduate orthopaedic training was undertaken in both Canada and England in Sports Medicine, Shoulder, Elbow and Knee surgery.
Richard is host of a Shoulder and Elbow fellowship training program, co-ordinator of clinical research, and a design and educational consultant to industry.
He is the director of upper limb services at the Epworth Musculoskeletal Institute.
Richard is also the immediate past-president of the Victorian Shoulder and Elbow Society (VSES), and he is the secretary-elect of the Shoulder and Elbow Society of Australia for 2024/25.
