Waverley Private Hospital would like to introduce, Dr Alison Fitz-Gerald, a general Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who is now consulting in the Mount Waverley area.
With over 10 years’ experience in obstetrics and gynaecology, Alison trained at Monash Health, Eastern Health and Bendigo Health before obtaining her FRANZCOG in 2015. She has a public appointment at Monash Health where in addition to her clinical work she is a RANZCOG training supervisor, participates in the mentor program for medical students and has been an examiner for Monash University for the last 3 years. Alison has a particular interest in perineal trauma after childbirth and is the obstetric lead at Dandenong Hospital for an Australian wide project looking to reduce severe trauma.
Alison provides complete care throughout a woman’s reproductive lives and beyond including managing menstrual disturbances, contraception advice and insertion, pre-conceptual counselling and early pregnancy complications, PCOS, endometriosis, abnormal cervical screening, fibroids, ovarian cysts, vulval pain/lesions and management of the menopause.
Alison’s caring and compassionate bedside manner is greatly appreciated by her patients, especially those experiencing early pregnancy complications. She understands that prompt access to a specialist is ideal and is happy to be contacted directly for individualised advice.
Alison recognises that every birth is different, and strives to provide individualised, holistic, women centred care. She can offer appointments at short notice when required and has a close working relationship with her colleague Dr Gagandeep Kaur with whom she shares an afterhours cover service.
