Waverley Private Hospital would like to introduce you to Mr Pee Yau (PY) Tan, General Surgeon with an interest in Hernias, Gall Bladders and Laparoscopic Colon Surgery.
Mr Tan attended Mount Waverley Secondary College, moved on to the University of Melbourne finally obtaining his fellowship in Australia in General Surgery in 2009. He also gained accreditation for practice Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy with the Conjoint Committee for Recognition of Training in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (CCRTGE). He subsequently underwent further Colorectal Fellowship training at Monash Health and became proficient with laparoscopic colectomies.
In the public sector he works at Monash Health with elective lists at both Dandenong and Casey Hospitals. He is regularly involved in the delivery of Acute General Surgical care. 'Nasty' appendixes, gall bladders, strangulated hernias; bowel obstructions and peritonitis are well within his areas of expertise. He is actively involved with teaching of surgical trainees and Monash medical undergraduates. In the private sector he works in a few local networks as well as at Waverley Private Hospital.
Apart from English, many of his patients appreciate that Mr Tan is fluent in spoken and written Mandarin and Cantonese.
