Mr Liang Low is an established General Surgeon, with a sub-specialist interest in upper gastro-intestinal and laparoscopic surgery. He consults locally at the Specialist Medical Centre (301 Blackburn Road Mount Waverley) and operates
regularly at Waverley Private Hospital.
Liang graduated from Monash University in 1996 and completed his residency training at the Alfred Hospital. After attaining his general surgical fellowship in 2004, Liang completed his extensive post-fellowship training as the Fellow
in Oesophago-Gastric Surgery at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford – one of the busiest specialised Upper GI units in the UK. He gained valuable experience treating many oesophageal cancers, and both benign and malignant tumours of the stomach.
Liang maintains an active involvement in medical education at Monash Health and is the Head of Department of the Upper GI and Hepatobiliary Surgical Unit.
He is a representative on the Victorian State Committee of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and is also a Lead Clinician in the Southern Metropolitan Intergrated Cancer Services, which advises DHS and develops improvements in the delivery of cancer care.
