Waverley Private Hospital specialist Tom Manley

Dr Tom Manley

MBBS FRANZCOG

Tom is popular amongst patients for his flexibility, friendly nature and down to earth approach to patient care.

Waverley Private Hospital would like to introduce you to Dr Tom Manley, a Monash trained obstetrician and gynaecologist.

Tom welcomes private and public referrals from GPs for all aspects of pregnancy and gynaecology related care.

Tom is a senior clinician at Monash Health with an appointment in the Monash Gynaecology Endosurgery unit and is also part of the Obstetric team, frequently on call for public obstetrics.

He continues to supervise training doctors at Monash as well as being faculty on the Monash Gynaecological Endosurgery Preceptorship Program which provides laparoscopic training to Gynaecologists all over Australia.

Tom grew up in country Victoria and moved to Melbourne to study medicine at Monash University.

After completing his specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Monash Health, he then completed a two-year Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy and Surgery (AGES) accredited advanced laparoscopic fellowship. During this training he was awarded the inaugural AGES travelling fellowship, taking him to Chicago to work with Dr Charles Miller, an expert in minimally invasive gynaecological surgery. After this he continued his fellowship training in reproductive medicine and IVF at the Royal Women’s Hospital and Melbourne IVF. As a result, he is able to care for women at all stages of their life, from conception and assisted reproduction (including IVF), pregnancy and childbirth, and beyond the reproductive years. Tom is one of only a few gynaecologists in Australia performing single incision laparoscopic hysterectomy and myomectomy.

Tom is committed to the best level of care for his patients and works closely with the excellent team at Waverley Private to provide this. Tom believes in supporting women through their pregnancy and childbirth in the most natural way possible, while his expert knowledge and training ensures the safety of both mother and baby.

Tom also has admitting rights to Monash Health for his public patients who need hospital care. Tom lives in Mount Waverley just minutes from Waverley Private with his wife and three young children. Tom makes a point of being available and rarely misses a birth among his own patients.

Tom is known for his down to earth and approachable manner and welcomes calls from GPs for advice anytime of the day or night. He is happy to see patients at short notice or in emergency situations.
