Waverley Private Hospital would like to introduce Dr Sarah Birks, a general surgeon, with advanced training in breast and endocrine surgery. She graduated from Monash University with Honours and completed her training in general surgery in Melbourne and undertook several years of specialist training in breast and endocrine surgery, including at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.
Sarah is dedicated to delivering compassionate and comprehensive care for patients with general surgical, breast and endocrine problems.
Having completed a Master of Surgery, Sarah has an ongoing interest in education and research. She aims always to provide the most up to date and evidence-based care, including a commitment to the multidisciplinary management of both breast and endocrine disorders. Sarah collaborates closely with other specialists, including radiologists, pathologists, oncologists, and plastic surgeons, to achieve the best outcome for her patients.
Sarah is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and has undertaken several years of post-fellowship specialty training in both endocrine and breast cancer surgery, including completion of the BreastSurgANZ Post Fellowship Training Program.
Sarah consults and operates regularly at Waverley Private Hospital. She is also a consultant surgeon at the Alfred Hospital, where she is part of the breast and endocrine surgical unit.
