The Day Infusion Service specialises in the care and support of patients receiving day medical therapy (usually by IV infusion), often used for the treatment or management of chronic illness.
The Unit at Waverley Private Hospital offers patients the convenience of local day treatment service delivered in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, taking some of the anxiety and inconvenience away of receiving treatment, and enabling patients and their families to continue with their lives during their treatment period.
The Unit is purpose designed, offering bright and spacious modern treatment areas. Bathed in natural light and featuring spacious yet discrete treatment bays, integrated décor, comfortable electric treatment chairs and access to wireless Internet.

Our dedicated and compassionate nursing staff work closely with our team of oncologists, haematologists, physicians and surgeons to ensure that all patients receive the highest quality of care, support and education.
Our specialist team gives personal attention to each patient, assessing their current health status, educating them about their disease and the infusion drug they will be receiving, as well as possible side effects from the medication.
Our staff also ensures that patients meet all discharge requirements and have appropriate home-supports in place before they are discharged from our service.

The time you will need to spend receiving treatment at the Day Oncology and Infusion Unit will be dependant on the type of infusion you will be receiving.
Please follow the instructions of your doctor carefully prior to your treatment.
A family member or carer is very welcome to accompany and support you during treatment.
A nurse will contact you to guide you through information and education regarding the chemotherapy treatment you will be receiving, possible side effects and how to manage them.

Waverley is very pleased to be able to offer Deidre Browning is a fully qualified Remedial Massage Therapist who is trained in delivering massage to people with cancer.
Deidre is available to offer relaxing hand and foot massages during your Oncology treatment session. Massage can be particularly beneficial if you are experiencing pain, nausea, anxiety and fatigue.
