Graduate Nursing at Waverley Private Hospital

We offer individualised supported graduate programs to meet your learning needs. Our 12 month program offers the opportunity for you to join our experienced, friendly and personal team. You will be supported by our education team, led by Jodie Campaign, our Staff Development Coordinator and a team of clinical preceptors who will offer guided learning throughout the year to consolidate your clinical knowledge and practice. With access to dedicated study days, in-service opportunities and the Ramsay Healthcare library service, you will continue to expand your knowledge in the clinical area.

Waverley Private Hospital is an acute care facility, which offers a broad clinical scope of practice in surgical, medical and obstetrics. Our key surgical specialties are orthopaedics, ENT, Endoscopy, plastics, gynaecology and general surgery. Our Perioperative service incorporates five operating theatres including a dedicated Day Procedure Unit.

Many of our past graduates have continued their employment beyond their Graduate Program either at Waverley or within the Ramsay Health Care group. As part of Ramsay Health Care group, we can offer national links and opportunities facilitating transfer of employment across Australia.

What experience will I gain at Waverley Private Hospital?

We aim for quality not quantity, and therefore limit our graduate intake numbers in order to guarantee supported clinical guidance and learning opportunities during your Graduate year. We are able to offer individualised programs with negotiated rotations in three key areas

  • General Surgical/Medical
  • Perioperative services
  • Maternity services

Do I choose my rotations?

We can accommodate individual needs to ensure that your Graduate Program is tailored to meet your clinical learning requirements. Rotations can be negotiated and modified as appropriate.

Waverley Private Hospital is a participant in the Ramsay Healthcare Gradplus Program. Go to the Gradplus website for details about the application process.
