Veteran Liaison Officer
Waverley Private Hospital has been appointed by the Department of Veterans' Affairs as a Tier 1 hospital to provide services to the veteran community. A Veterans' Liaison Officer provides comprehensive discharge planning for hospitalised veterans and war widows.
Infection control service
Waverley Private Hospital contracts HICMR an independent company to provide infection control expertise. HICMR is actively involved in ensuring Waverley Private Hospital has in place an effective infection control program that is based on best practice and compliance with Australian Standards.
Pastoral care/chaplaincy services
Waverley Private Hospital is a non denominational hospital and cares for all patients irrespective of religion or nationality.
Ministers and Priests from local Churches can be requested to visit, please speak to the Nurse Unit Manager to arrange.
Social Worker
Waverley Private Hospital engages the services of a consultant Social Worker whose services can be arranged in consultation with the Nurse Unit Manager.
Pre-admission Coordinator
If you are being admitted to Waverley Private Hospital for a surgical procedure please phone the pre admission nurse the day prior to your admission to clarify your admission time, fasting instructions and any other information related to your particular surgery.

Pharmacy
Waverley Private Hospital has a pharmacy on site at the hospital with a full time pharmacist to meet the needs of our patients. This pharmacy is not open to the public.
Physiotherapy service
A consultant Physiotherapist visits the hospital daily and will be organised to see patients on request by your Doctor. Orthopaedic Surgeons have their own Physiotherapists who are familiar with the surgeon's requirements.
Pathology service
Waverley Private Hospital is serviced by Dorevitch Pathology and Melbourne Pathology. Choice of pathology service is dependent upon Doctor's preference.
Radiology/Diagnostic Imaging service
The in-house radiology service is provided by VMI. Some procedures require patients to be transferred to other Radiology facilities and, if this is necessary nursing staff will make the necessary arrangements.
