Our Facilities

Waverley Private Hospital's fully equipped modern maternity unit, gives you the peace of mind that you and your baby will have access to the very best of care.

Our maternity unit is supported by a highly trained team of obstetricians, paediatricians, midwives, lactation consultants, neonatal and maternity nursing staff, dedicated to you and your baby's clinical care.

Delivery Suite

The Maternity Unit's newly refurbished delivery suite has 3 large birthing rooms which are fully equipped with the latest technology to ensure a safe and comfortable environment during childbirth. Each suite features an ensuite (with access to a deep bath), television, fridge, comfortable recliner chair, and ipod docking station/stereo.

Our individualised care during childbirth means that our experienced midwives are dedicated to attending to all your needs throughout childbirth and immediately after the birth of your baby.

Our operating theatres and theatre team are also on standby if the need for an emergency Caesarean Section delivery arises.

CTG - Fetal Monitory Service

A regular CTG Fetal Monitory Service offered within the Maternity Unit
enables obstetricians to monitor your baby's heart rate and uterine contractions if requested by your doctor.

Level 2 Special Care Nursery

A special feature of our maternity unit is our newly refurbished Level 2 Nursery, which is supported by our team of specially trained neonatal nursing staff who care for premature (from 33 weeks) and highly dependant newborn babies.

This care can include time in an isolette, phototherapy for jaundice, feeding difficulties and medical treatment. Having a Level 2 nursery onsite means that mother and baby are less likely to be separated if the baby requires specialised care.

24 Hour Care

In the event that an emergency caesarean section delivery is required, our theatres are supported by a 24 hour anaesthetic roster and access to paediatric cover. Our highly experienced midwifery and nursing staff are dedicated to meeting the medical needs of you and your baby at any time of the day and night.
